ADAM Manager : discover the validation features

ADAM Manager offers a range of features designed to secure and streamline the validation stages of your documentation.

In this article, we outline two options: integrating validation directly into a workflow and automatically validating the references contained within a Publication Module (PM).

Enabling features

The two features described in this article can be enabled via the ADAM Manager settings.

If you wish to use them in your environment, please contact your 4D CONCEPT Project Manager to have them enabled.

1. Incorporate validation in the workflow

ADAM Manager allows you to add a validation step during a workflow transition involving one or more Data Modules (DM).

This feature therefore enables validation to be integrated directly into the document processing workflow, without the need for a separate operation.

How does it work?

When a workflow transition for which this validation has been configured is triggered, additional fields related to the validation appear automatically.

A ‘Validate’ step is also added to the job window to track the progress of the operation.

2. Validate the references for a Publication Module

The second feature relates to the validation of a Publication Module (PM).

ADAM Manager allows you to add an option so that validating a PM also triggers the validation of all the references it contains.

This feature therefore makes it easy to extend the validation process to the items referenced by the publication.

How do you use it?

When validating a PM, a new ‘Validate references’ option appears in the interface.

Simply set the button to ‘On’ so that the validation process is also triggered for the references in the selected PM.

Tick the ‘Validate references’ box to extend the validation to include references contained in the Publication Module.

These features allow you to tailor the document approval process to your organisation’s needs: by integrating approval into the workflow or by extending it to the references of a Publication Module.
